Meet the Directors of the JSKWICS

Dave Hunter

Dave was born in Vancouver and spent his teenage years in Comox, where he had a life changing experience while out salmon fishing. When a pod of Orcas swam by, one of them paused right next to his 10-foot boat and looked him right in the eye, seemingly right into his soul, creating a life changing experience that inspired his lifelong interest in marine mammal life and ecosystems.

After graduating from UVIC in 1966 (Math & Physics), Dave had a 30-year software development career working for IBM in Australia, The Netherlands and then back in Vancouver.

Dave volunteered for the Robson Bight Warden Program before becoming a Director on the JSKWICS Board when it was formed in 1993 and is looking forward to helping build WIC 2.0!
